The Givens Grove

History in the Making!

I started The Givens Grove blog for two reasons.  The first being to document our family’s adventures.  The second would be to share these adventures and the things we have learned to do with others, oh yeah… and of course what not to do!  I understand some things we need to learn the hard way. But really, I could have lived without positioning my nest boxes in the wrong place (post to come) and still would have matured into a fine young homesteader.  A mistake I am still living with 3 years later, I might add! But any-who….oh yeah…. or the time I made and awesome chicken tractor, a fine piece of farm art, to find that 2×4’s weigh about 10,000lbs when formed into a tractor.  Okay 7,000lbs, but who is counting. One day it will be re-purposed into something else; when I can look at it and no longer remember how many hours of my life went into it.

We are blessed to be given this life! We are truly living history in the making.  The history of our walk with the Lord, of our marriage, our children and one day our grandchildren.  We want to make every minute count! Hopefully you will enjoy what you read and see and maybe learn life with us.
