The Givens Grove

Here We Go Again

Yep you saw that correctly….there is a safety pin in the oven.
Okay, there’s a baby in the oven, but I am pretty sure you figured that out.  The Givens Clan is about to grow by one more and we couldn’t be happier for this blessing God has bestowed on us.
I am not going to lie, when the morning sickness hit and I couldn’t make a meal for days to save my life…I did question my sanity.  When you are on your fourth child there is no question about what is to come.  You know what labor feels like.  You know you are going to have to go without sleep….for months on end.  You know that homeschooling two children with a toddler and a new born is going to kill you…I mean make you stronger.  You know that life will look like a shambles for at least the next four years of your life until you get your crap together.  Seriously…that’s how long it takes.  You know that people are going to look at you like you have lost your mind…and to be frank…you kinda have.
But let’s also be honest here.  You also know that one day life won’t be so crazy.  One day you will sit back and think of these days as the most remarkable in your life.  That you would do them all over in a heartbeat.  Why?  Because your children are your heartbeat, and what we have to offer back to the amazing Lord that gave them to us.
I am so thankful for the amazing husband that I get to do this life with.  He has made dinner almost every night for almost two months after pulling long, hard days.  He doesn’t complain about laundry not being done, or that fact that you can’t see one square inch of our floor.  I tell him I am just making sure the burglars think twice about entering when they peak through the window.  You should try it sometime.  Or not if you don’t want to kill yourself on the way to the bathroom 456 times a night.  Oh wait….that’s me.
Psalms 127 3-5 ESV
3 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. 4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. 5 Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
And my friends…we are truly blessed.
